■Eight G's Fall Classic: Heavy Flannel Shirt
From the Fall/Winter 2025 collection of Eight G, our original brand at Jeans Center Sakai, comes this checked flannel shirt crafted from crisp 100% cotton heavy flannel fabric.
While flannel shirts are a timeless classic, they remain beloved as a timeless staple of American casual fashion. Their timelessness and versatility make them a great centerpiece for any outfit, and a great way to add pops of color to your winter ensemble.
Eight G partners with trusted domestic factories, ensuring that each shirt is meticulously sewn by skilled artisans. Their durable construction, which grows stronger with wear, is also highly sought after.
■Herringbone Check: A pattern and texture that deepens its appeal.
This model features an "ombré check," characterized by gradual changes in color.
Furthermore, by using a herringbone weave, which has a distinctive pattern resembling herringbone (herringbone) in the weave, the interplay between the light and dark check shading and the weave pattern creates a unique look.
This flannel shirt is simple yet subtly distinctive with its texture, resulting in a stylish finish.
The sturdy 100% cotton heavy twill fabric is made from environmentally friendly organic cotton.
The heavy flannel, made with thick yarn, has a workwear-like feel, and with repeated wearing and washing, it will develop a stylish patina over time.
It is durable and resistant to shape deformation, so it can be washed and handled with ease.
■Recreating the details of vintage shirts
To allow you to enjoy the unique character of a work shirt, which has its roots in workwear, the shirt is subtly sprinkled with the attention to detail that workwear enthusiasts covet.
The left chest pocket is equipped with a pen holder, allowing you to access a pen without opening or closing the flap.
The fabric for the pockets is cut at a bias angle relative to the body, adding an accent to the design.
The buttons on the front and sleeves are made with urea buttons, a material long used on work shirts and military clothing.
Urea buttons are resistant to heat and impact, and because they are dyed at the raw material stage rather than painted, they are less prone to scratches, making them a material typically associated with workwear.
Triangular gussets have been added to both hems to strengthen the stitching between the front and back of the body.
Threads protruding from the sides of the gussets are called "karakan" (empty loops), a detail found on work shirts from the old days, when sewing without backstitching increased productivity.
This product utilizes modern sewing techniques to achieve strength, while also intentionally recreating a tasteful design. Therefore, the empty loops (thread) left on both sides of the hem can be cut without affecting strength, allowing you to create the look you prefer.
■Japan's World-Renowned Sewing Expertise
To ensure years of enjoyable wear, key areas, including the shoulders, which are prone to stress, are sewn with a durable twin-needle overlock stitch.
Since fabrics are sewn together, this requires a high level of skill, especially when sewing with a sturdy material like heavy flannel. However, even curved areas with overlapping fabric, such as the shoulders, sides, and armholes, are beautifully finished with an overlock stitch.
■An Exquisite Silhouette Tailored to the Japanese Body Type
The pattern is hand-drawn with the body line in mind, resulting in a silhouette that is neither too tight nor too loose, creating a flattering balance.
While exuding the vibe of a rustic work shirt, the sizing is tailored to fit modern fashion, making this a popular choice for a wide range of generations and styles.
