This army denim cap is from Buzz Rickson's, a brand that thoroughly analyzes the spinning and weaving of yarn, fabric materials, parts, and form to revive classic military wear like flight jackets.
This modified version is a reproduction of a denim hat developed by the U.S. Army in 1934, with the brim cut off and improved to create a cap-like shape.
Because it was modified by a soldier for personal use, very few original examples exist and it is said to be rare to come across.
It is made from 11-ounce denim, so it will age beautifully with use.
The hat's brim was cut off, resulting in a circular stitching, adding to its appealing historical design.
Another feature is the lack of a brim core, allowing it to be rolled up and stored in a pocket.
The inside is lined with sweatband, and the six-panel seams are reinforced with herringbone tape from the inside for a sturdy construction.
The simple design does not include adjusters for size adjustment.
