Combining the appeal of classic pieces from the history of workwear
This work shirt has its roots in workwear, which was created in the mid-19th century as a “wearable tool” for workers who dreamed of making a fortune during the gold rush in the U.S., and is still loved as a standard American casual material.
It uses a thick denim fabric of 13.5 oz. for a shirt, and while it has the details of a work shirt and coveralls, it is a piece that can be said to be a fusion of denim workwear, with a G-jan-level fit and texture.
The shirts of “EIGHT-G” are made in Japan, where sewing is carefully handled at an exclusive factory in Japan, and they are also supported for their sturdy construction.

13.5 oz. left twill selvage denim
Most denim is made in “right twill” denim, in which the ridges rise to the right, but this denim is made in “left twill” denim, in which the ridges rise to the left.
The left twill denim is flat and soft in texture, while the right twill denim is uneven and rough in texture.
The tightness of the ridges makes the twill look firm, and the color tends to fade more noticeably as the garment is worn.

Because selvedge denim woven on an old power loom, which is now rare, is used, the selvedge denim is pushed out to the full surface by using “ears” in each part, which can be said to be proof of the selvedge denim.

The chinstrap on the collar creates a nonchalant atmosphere
The strap part integrated with the collar is called a “chinstrap,” which was seen in workwear such as coveralls and shirts before the 1940s. (*Chin=chin)
It was intended to keep wind from entering and flapping the collar by fastening the buttons, but even when unbuttoned, it serves as a design accent and a point of appeal for a shrewd work shirt.
The name is long, so calling it “chinstrap” or some other abbreviation may give the impression of being a bit of a workwear connoisseur.

The collar, front placket, and sleeves are lined with brown duck fabric, which was designed to be inconspicuous of dirt and dust and to reflect the lifestyle of workers of the time.

Chest pockets that allow you to enjoy the difference in design between the left and right sides
The commonly known “mess pockets,” which are pockets with different shapes, is one of the details that vintage lovers are impatient to see.
It has a strong visual impact and is a good design feature, so it is indispensable in today's work shirts.
This shirt has a flap pocket with a pen holder on the right chest and a slightly smaller pocket with a watch pocket on the left chest.
The watch pocket was provided for workers of the time to store their pocket watches, and a diagonal hole can be seen on the front placket for a watch chain.
The stitching is tailored in a coverall style, which is also not to be missed.

Japan's world-class “sewing ability
Made in Japan” products are now a keyword for high quality and are used all over the world.
This shirt, too, is made in a “typically Japanese” way, with the Japanese temperament of meticulousness, precision, and careful finishing, as well as dexterity.

To ensure that the shirts can be used for many years, the main parts of the shirt, including the shoulder area, which is easily stressed, are sewn using a two-needle, rolled-sew method.
The curved parts like armholes (base of sleeves) are also beautifully finished with the rolled seams, which require a high level of skill for such a solid material.
