The hickory pattern originated from a stripe pattern on denim fabric, which was devised to make stains less noticeable.
It is said that the reason white was chosen from among many colors for the stripe pattern was because workers in hot steam locomotives sought "coolness" in the shades of blue and white, and it is a historic design that continues to live up to the sensibilities of workers of that time.

The in-seam and out-seam are sewn with 3-needle rolled stitches for each knee pad, and up to 6 pieces of fabric are rolled for tough sewing specifications.
