The "Zero Series," which has realized high quality and low prices despite being made in Japan, will introduce its latest model Lot 042 in the spring of 2023. Based on the silhouette and details of the "TF21," which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and has an established reputation as an introduction to heavy-weight denim, this new model is made of a 21-ounce selvage denim with a stronger punch and more resilience, making it a more wearable piece.
The base TF21 was also highly supported as "easy to wear heavy-ounce jeans," and this Lot 042 has a firm, solid fabric feel as indicated by the 21-ounce figure. It is a finish that we hope will be picked up by those who want to try authentic heavy-ounce denim, as well as by veteran heavy-ounce lovers. Using 3.3 count irregular yarn for the warp and 4 count yarn for the weft, the denim is slowly and densely beaten on an old Toyota G9 power loom manufactured more than half a century ago, giving it a strong and firm look that cannot be produced on modern high-speed looms.
The V-stitching on the sides of the top button and the hidden rivets on the back pockets are all vintage-inspired details. The natural texture of the raw silk slacks with cotton scraps left on purpose can also be enjoyed. The orange selvedge that looks great when rolled up gives you a range of coordination options.
