This is the “WHITE DRAGON” × “EAGLE” reversible scajan 2025 Spring/Summer model from Taylor Toyo.
This product is a faithful reprint of a piece from the early 1950s, newly acquired by Taylor Toyo in recent years, on both sides, and is based on an individual in mint condition with almost no fading, bringing back the vintage atmosphere as it was.
Sukajan started to be sold as a souvenir at a store in a U.S. military base soon after the war, but in the 1950s when the production reached its peak, 95% of the delivery share was occupied by “Kosho Shokai”, the predecessor of Toyo Enterprises, which developed this brand “Taylor Toyo”. The company was “Minato Shokai,” the predecessor of Toyo Enterprises, which developed the Tailor Toyo brand.
The dress handled by the historic brand that has been making Sukajan for more than half a century since then is known as a gem that Sukajan lovers want to keep if they like Sukajan because of the outstanding attention to the texture of the fabric, embroidery techniques, and so on.
This is a faithful reproduction of a newly acquired piece from the early 1950s on both sides. Based on an individual in mint condition with almost no fading, it has been revived with the vintage atmosphere intact. The surface is decorated with a white dragon drawn with brightly colored threads. The entire body of the dragon is depicted from head to tail, and the size of the embroidery itself is larger than others. Except for the embroidery, the body and ribs are monotone black and white. The red of the flames and the orange of the mane stand out against the black satin fabric, but the threads used for each color are not vivid, but rather elegant, light shades of traditional Japanese colors.
The reversible side features an eagle perched on a pine branch and spreading its wings. The deformed and charming eagle is beautifully depicted in a gradation of brown, silver, and white. The very rare orange body shows pine leaves painted with light green and dark green colored threads. Also, both the front and back sides are characterized by the three lines on the sleeve mounts, which is also rare in vintage.
