This is the 2023 model of the Sun Surf Special Edition, LAND OF ALOHA.
The original was created by HALE HAWAII, a brand founded in 1950 by HALE HAWAII, Inc.
It was printed in 1956 at the dyehouse that Japanese-American Isamu Takabuki opened in Kyoto shortly after the war.
The brand features a wide variety of works such as Japanese patterns on wall crepe and Hawaiian patterns on wall crepe and picture prints as well as stencil dyed Hawaiian patterns.
With the experience of Sun Surf's past reprints, further improvements have been made and the product has been reissued.

In 2000, at the end of the 20th century, the Hawaii Tourism Association and other organizations sponsored a tourism campaign called "The Year of the Aloha Shirt.
The Land of Aloha was the pattern used for the posters for the campaign, and it can be seen that it is one of the most popular and unique patterns among the many works of art.
The fabric was exported from Kyoto to Hawaii at the time, with its intricate and delicate pattern matching and 21 different colors.
According to the data of the time, more than ten different color schemes were produced, and the pattern was the focus of much attention from that time.
It is one of the patterns that required very high level of technology to reproduce, and you can see the elaborate Japanese technology in this piece of clothing.

The neck has an open collar, which is standard for aloha shirts, and the breast pocket is carefully and luxuriously patterned to match the body of the shirt.
The hem is cut in a straight line for a box silhouette.

The name "HALE HAWAII" faithfully reproduced is attached to the collar, and a tag and a special case are also included.
