Type N-1 Navy "NAVY DEPARTMENT DEMOTEX-ED
The N-1 deck jacket was used by the U.S. Navy from World War II through the Korean War as a set with trousers made of the same material. The N-1 deck jacket, like other deck jackets, was made of cotton grosgrain, usually called "jungle cloth," and lined with alpaca mohair wool pile, which provided excellent wind protection and heat retention. In 1945, a khaki model was issued. The changes were not limited to color, but also included the omission of the alpaca mohair sewn inside the cuffs, the simplification of the loops attached to the lining underarm and hem cord sections, the enlargement of the hem cord eyelets, and the position of the underarm eyelets."
