This model features a graphic inspired by the 6147th Tactical Control Group—commonly known as the “Mosquito Unit”—which played a pivotal role in the Korean War, printed on a durable 100% cotton body.
The illustration of a mosquito, which gave the unit its nickname, symbolizes their elusive missions, flying at low altitude over enemy territory to conduct reconnaissance and provide target guidance. Although drawn with a humorous touch, the design symbolizes the unit’s heroic exploits.
Additionally, in February 1954, actress Marilyn Monroe visited the Mosquito Unit stationed at an airbase in South Korea to cheer them on—an event that helped make the unit’s name widely known.
