Authentic American Workwear
This is the Fall/Winter 2025 work shirt from Sugar Cane, which offers a wide range of workwear, including shirts and jackets, primarily made from denim.
Originally developing clothing for U.S. military bases, Sugar Cane was born in Japan, and yet its craftsmanship and know-how are all American-inspired. It's a brand renowned for its meticulous craftsmanship.
Each piece is recreated by cutting through actual vintage shirts and meticulously analyzing the number of colors and patterns. This allows you to own a shirt with the style of the time in pristine condition and enjoy the changes in texture as you wear it, a charm not found in vintage clothing.
The pattern on this item is inspired by a 1960 work shirt from "BRENT," the store brand of Montgomery Ward, known for beginning catalog sales at a time when mail order was not yet commonplace.
The check pattern, typical of America at the time, uses four warp and four weft colors, resulting in vibrant colors. The color scheme is also based on vintage shirts by brands like BIGYANK and BIGMAC, making this a piece that's packed with the charm of a classic brand.
Chest pockets are located on both sides of the chest.
While pockets come in a variety of shapes depending on the era and brand, a distinctive feature of vintage shirts, this one features rounded corners.
Another distinctive feature is the bias cut (turning the fabric around the pocket) that adds a touch of elegance to the design.
The collar is a regular collar with a stand that can be easily coordinated with any style.
The buttons are classic four-hole buttons.
The increased number of threads and four-point fastening provide stability and the advantage of being less likely to come undone.
Both hems have gussets to prevent the front and back of the body from tearing.
Another signature detail of vintage work shirts is the "loop loop" technique, where the seam is sewn in one direction and the thread is left tangled to secure the seam.
