This is Taylor Toyo's reversible Sukajan 2025 Spring/Summer model, “BLACK TIGER” × “DUELLING DRAGONS”.
Sukajan started to be sold as a souvenir jacket at the kiosks of U.S. military bases soon after the war, but in the 1950s, when production was at its peak, as much as 95% of the delivery share was occupied by “Minato Shokai,” the predecessor of Toyo Enterprises, which developed this brand of Taylor Toyo. The company was “Kosho Shokai,” the predecessor of Toyo Enterprises, which developed the Tailor Toyo brand.
The dress handled by the historic brand that has been making Sukajan for more than half a century since then is known as a gem that Sukajan lovers want to keep if they like Sukajan because of the outstanding attention to the texture of the fabric, embroidery techniques, and so on.
The surface is a tiger pattern from the mid-1950s, drawn with black-based colored threads. The embroidery is three-dimensional and full of dynamic depiction, making full use of the needle feet of the embroidery, and it gives off the powerful sound of a roaring tiger's cry. The monochromatic body is unified in off-white on the body and under sleeves, which is rare even in vintage clothing, with black lines on the sleeve mountains, and even the ribs are finished in a sophisticated monotone.
The reversible side features a magnificent composition of a golden dragon descending from the heavens and a white dragon emerging from the water, staring at each other across Mt. Among the many dragon designs, the depiction of the face and mane is sharp and edgy. The navy satin fabric is brightly colored with yellow and pink threads. The tricolor ribbing also accentuates the overall look.
